T-Shirt & Memory Quilts Pricing Guide

Below is exactly how I figure your invoice. I will provide you with a detailed estimate for your approval before I begin work on your quilt.

Row & Columns - $5 to $7/shirt image

Top Picture - T-shirt images are all the same size and are arranged in rows and columns without sashing.

This example includes some small images appliquéd to larger squares; all squares are 12 x 12 inches. There are both inner and outer borders. ($7 per image)

Middle Picture - T-shirt images are arranged with sashing and cornerstone squares and one border. ($7 per image)

Bottom Picture - This style is best for clothing other than t-shirts. The fabric is cut to 6 inch squares and arranged in rows and columns. It can be done with or without sashing, cornerstone squares or border. ($5 per image)

Crazy Quilt & Mosaic - $8/shirt image

Top Picture- The Crazy Quilt Style uses a group of fabrics to create space between shirt images. You can help choose the color scheme for these fabrics. There are also decorative stitches used to add to the visual texture.

Bottom Picture - In the Mosaic Style, t-shirt images are cut in various sizes with fabric used to fill in spaces between the images. In this example, there is a narrow inner border, a piano keys middle border, and a narrow outer border.

Additional Costs

Cotton Backing: a lightweight fabric, $7-$15 per yard

Flannel Backing: a soft, medium weight fabric, $8-$16 per yard

Minky Backing: a heavy weight, soft, fuzzy fabric that is nice for a throw size, but would get heavy for anything bigger than about 70 x 80; ranges $14-$20 per yard

Fabric-Rows & Columns Quilt: mostly for sashing and borders; range $7-$15 per yard; number of yards depends on desired finished size

Fabric-Crazy Quilt: will need at least 4 to 6 half-yard pieces of different fabrics; range $7 to $15 per yard

Fabric-Mosaic Quilt: will need 3 to 4 half-yard pieces of different fabrics; range $7 to $15 per yard

Batting: I use a lightweight batting that is 100% cotton. If you want your quilt to be heavier, I can use a double layer of batting. I charge $6 per yard and most projects use 2 to 3 yards.

Unless the fabric you submit doesn’t permit, my quilts are all machine washable.
